Global Animal Categories

My typical workday

No two days are ever the same, and that is exactly what I enjoy most about my job. I work with feed formulations, developing new recipes, and maintaining existing ones to ensure the best performance and feed quality.

In relation, it is also a part of my role is staying up to date with the latest research and knowledge. I attend conferences and seminars, collaborate with suppliers, and continuously seek new insights to improve the solutions in our portfolio.  I also support our sales organization with technical expertise within animal nutrition and health.

My DLG Group Journey

I joined DLG Group nine years ago as a student assistant. After graduating my Master in Animal Science at the University of Copenhagen I joined Animal Categories as a technical consultant focusing on pigs and had that position in almost three years. Afterwards, I took on a leadership role in our Customer Center. It was an exciting opportunity, and I learned so much about myself and DLG Group during the three-and a half year as a Team Lead in the Customer Center. I eventually realized that I missed using my academical background within animal nutrition which led me back to a specialist role as Technical Consultant a few years ago. At first within cattle but today my technical focus is on poultry nutrition.

When I joined DLG Group many colleagues had been in the company for several years and I thought it hard to imagine what made them stay that long – but here I am, nine years later, still part of the organization which I think says a lot about the opportunities within DLG Group.

The best part of my job

It is the various tasks and flexibility in solving them. With two small children, it means a lot that I can adjust my workday when needed. That balance keeps me motivated and engaged.

I enjoy using my academical background and contribute to making a difference every day – either for DLG, our owners and our customers around the world. I aim for ‘a better tomorrow’.

What makes the DLG Group a great place to work?

There is a lot of freedom and very few limitations. If you are motivated, there are many opportunities to grow and explore different career paths within the company.

What I think stands out is all the good people who work here. My colleagues are highly dedicated, skilled, and have a great sense of humor. A positive atmosphere is important to me and my job satisfaction.

Who I also am

I live in the countryside with my husband and our two children, where I enjoy the outdoor lifestyle and everything that comes with it.

I love great food and traveling, especially to France. I have a great passion for champagne – both the region and the wine itself, and we travel to Champagne at least once a year.

Sales Agriculture

A typical day at work

My day usually starts with reaching out to customers – following up on ongoing dialogues or making calls as part of campaigns. I work towards both team and individual sales targets, so being proactive and staying structured is an important part of my role.

A big part of the day is also spent discussing the market with my colleagues – and how external factors like global events and weather conditions impact our business. It makes the environment dynamic, where no two days are ever the same.

Even though there is flexibility to work from home, I prefer being in the office. I enjoy the energy, the collaboration, and being surrounded by my colleagues.

My DLG Group journey

I joined DLG Group as an Appetencies within Sales. During that time, I followed a development plan and had the opportunity to work across different departments.

After finishing my appetencies program, I was offered a full-time position in Inside Sales, where I now manage my own portfolio of customers.

The best part of my job

For me, it is definitely the people and the variety in my work. I really enjoy the close customer contact and building strong relationships.

The industry itself has also surprised me.

I had no previous knowledge of agriculture before joining, but it is incredibly exciting – there is always something going on, and the market is constantly moving.

What makes the DLG Group a great place to work?

The culture here is very supportive. People are easy to talk to, helpful, and there is room to make mistakes and learn from them.

I have also experienced strong leadership throughout my journey. My leaders have been great at guiding me and ensuring I develop at the right pace. There is a clear focus on growth, and I have always felt that there was a plan for my development.

Who I also am

Outside of work, I am often out running or going for long walks. I love spending time with family and friends, and I really value those moments together. When I am not doing that, I usually have a podcast on – it is rarely quiet.

Global Production Vilofoss

My typical workday

My days follow a rhythm, and I like it that way. I start by doing a round on the floor – saying good morning to everyone and making sure the team is set up well for the day ahead. After that, it is about keeping things moving: managing the production flow, allocating resources, and working closely with operators and technicians to solve challenges quickly and efficiently.

A big part of my role is also continuous improvement – whether that is refining processes, developing people, or raising the bar on quality and performance. No matter what the day brings, the goal is always the same: a strong team delivering strong results.

My DLG Group journey

My connection to this company goes back further than most people expect. I was around 15 when I first started working here as a young worker in 2015, I joined as a production operator at Vilofoss, and from there I have grown step by step alongside the business.

One early highlight was travelling to England as a young man to help start up a Vilofoss factory – training new employees and building something from the ground up. It was hands-on work, and it taught me a lot.

In 2024, I stepped into the role of Production Supervisor. It was not something I had planned for when I was younger, but leadership has come naturally to me over the years. I have had the privilege of working with great managers who believed in me and pushed me forward. That makes all the difference.

The best part of my job

Without a doubt, it is the people. Building a strong team, developing individuals, and seeing what we can achieve together – that is what drives me. When small improvements in how we work together translate into real results in production, that is the part that keeps me going.

What makes the DLG Group a great place to work?

If you are willing to take initiative, the opportunities are there. You can build responsibility, grow into new roles, and develop both professionally and personally. It is a motivating environment which I appreciate to be a part of.

Who I also am

Outside of work, I truly value time with my family and having a good balance between work and life. I have a partner and two young children, and being able to switch off and be present at home is just as important to me as doing a good job at work

When I am not with the family, you will most likely find me in the water. Carp fishing is my great passion – I love the stillness of it, being out in nature with nothing but time and patience. I travel all over the country for it.

PROJECT MANAGER

Group Marketing

My typical workday

No two days are alike, and that is exactly what I love about it. My work spans strategic projects, group-wide initiatives, and everything in between: preparing workshops, developing presentations, and supporting the Group Marketing team. What I find particularly energizing is the collaboration with so many different people and cultures within DLG Group.

My DLG Group journey

My journey with DLG started while I was still studying. I joined as a working student on the social media team, and during my master's program I moved into the strategic marketing department – already working on group-wide and international projects.

After graduating, I was brought on board full-time in Group Marketing, where I now manage projects related to strategy, brand development, and cross-group collaboration. Looking back, it has been a natural progression – each step building on the last.

The best part of my job

What makes my job special is the opportunity to connect people and markets – across languages, cultures, and business areas. But just as important is the team I am part of. We work closely together, and I have a manager who encourages me and gives me real ownership of my work. That is not something I take for granted.

What makes the DLG Group a great place to work?

The DLG Group is international, diverse, and purposeful all at once. With so many different business areas – from agriculture to energy and building materials – there is always room to grow and take on new areas of responsibility.

Something that means a lot to me personally is the sense of contribution. We work in sectors that matter and that gives the work meaning beyond the everyday tasks.

Who I also am

Outside of work, I am a dedicated reader – particularly of fantasy, which I explore with my book club.

I have also recently discovered tennis, and I have quickly gone from curious beginner to enthusiastic follower of the major tournaments.

Beyond that, I volunteer with the Leo Club, supporting community projects in the Flensburg region. It is important to me to contribute outside of work too – and it connects me to people and causes beyond my everyday environment.

E-Mobility Team Energie

My typical workday

There is hardly a typical workday, and I would not have it any other way. I work in project development at Team Energie, focusing on electric mobility, which means I oversee new charging stations from the very first idea to the final handshake: site selection, feasibility studies, contract negotiations, and presentations to senior management.

In practice, that means a mix of internal coordination with marketing and legal, and regular time on the road – evaluating potential locations and moving projects forward on-site.

My DLG Group journey

I come from the automotive industry, and after that I studied International Management in Flensburg and Denmark. During that time, I was already working as a freelancer in the energy sector, specializing in electric mobility early on. At Team Energie, those two worlds come together. I get to work on developing sustainable mobility solutions - and the DLG Group's clear focus on sustainable business practices - gives that work a solid foundation and real long-term prospects.

The best part of my job

The variety, and the knowledge that my work makes a concrete difference. Contributing to sustainable mobility and the reduction of CO₂ emissions is not just a job description – it is something I truly care about.

What makes the DLG Group a great place to work?

Beyond the great collaboration within the E-Mobility team, it is the trust and appreciation for what we do that really stands out.

Who I also am

Outside of work, you will most likely find me at the gym or out walking with my dog Teddy. On weekends, I am a regular at flea markets – always on the hunt for old treasures. I have a soft spot for retro Nintendo games, which might say something about me.
