Hans Ole Jessen appointed new head of DLG’s Danish agricultural business

With 25 years of experience at DLG Group and a strong professional and commercial background, the Danish segment of the Agriculture Business Group gains a leader with deep roots in agriculture and extensive knowledge of its owners, customers and business.

Hans Ole Jessen most recently held the position of Product and Market Director and will now lead DLG’s Danish agricultural business, which is undergoing significant change as part of the ReGen transformation programme. The programme is designed to create greater value for DLG’s cooperative owners. He starts his new role as Senior Vice President, Agriculture Business Group, Denmark with immediate effect.

“Hans Ole has extensive experience from the sector and in-depth knowledge of our business, our owners and our customers. He is the right choice to lead the development facing DLG in Denmark. He knows what farmers are looking for, and has demonstrated strong leadership and commercial capabilities throughout the years. Hans Ole also has the right vision and ideas needed to ensure that DLG remains the strongest partner for Danish farmers in the future,” says Peter Kjær Jensen, EVP, Agriculture Business Group.

Hans Ole Jessen grew up on a farm south of Ribe and was educated within the agricultural sector, with a main focus on cattle, pigs and crop production, before he started as a sales representative at Skærbæk Lokalforening in 1999. The association became part of DLG in 2001. He has a degree as an Agribusiness Manager, with a further diploma in management and an Executive MBA from Coventry University.

“I am proud and honoured by this opportunity. We are in the middle of an important transformation at DLG, which will enable us to create more value for our owners. I am here to help our Danish business succeed for the benefit of our cooperative owners, and I am convinced that we have the team, the foundation and the capabilities to do so,” says Hans Ole Jessen.

With the appointment, DLG Group gains a new lead for the Denmark segment in Agriculture Business Groupwho combines practical experience from the farm, a strong educational foundation and in-depth knowledge of the development that both agriculture and DLG have undergone over recent decades.

“DLG has a strong culture, but that alone cannot carry us into the future. That is why I believe it is crucial that we implement our ReGen transformation programme. When we develop the business while also remembering the importance of relationships, traditions and dialogue with customers, we will create greater value for farmers. I have no doubt about that,” he says.
