team and Valora plan strategic cooperation in the service station business

The team Group is planning a strategic cooperation with Valora, one of Europe’s leading foodvenience providers. The aim of the partnership is to combine the strengths of both companies to further develop team’s service station business in a future-oriented way and unlock additional growth potential. The cooperation will begin with a pilot project at eight locations in Germany.

Responding to changing market requirements

The service station market is undergoing significant change. In addition to the traditional fuel business, convenience offerings, fresh food and beverages for on-the-go consumption, as well as new mobility and service solutions, are becoming increasingly important. At the same time, customer expectations are rising, while economic conditions continue to evolve.

“We see great potential in strategically combining our expertise,” says Kim Lorenzen, Managing Director at team energie. “While we remain fully focused on energy, mobility, charging infrastructure, and the technical operation of our service stations, Valora contributes its extensive expertise in the convenience and food service business.”

Clear division of responsibilities and focus on core competencies

As part of the planned cooperation, team will continue to be responsible for the fuel business, charging infrastructure, service station technology, and investments in technical equipment. Going forward, Valora is expected to assume responsibility for the shop, convenience, food service, and car wash businesses.

“team service stations are located at highly frequented sites. With our experience in convenience and food service, we can unlock this potential even further. For customers, this means an even more attractive offering with a greater selection of fresh food options and a modern shopping experience,” says Philipp Angehrn, Managing Director Convenience Germany at the Valora Group.

For customers, the cooperation is expected to be particularly noticeable through attractive shop and food service concepts, an expanded product range, and a modern, efficient shopping experience. At the same time, the partners aim to leverage synergies, transfer proven solutions, and strengthen the competitiveness of the locations. The team brand will remain unchanged.

Valora contributes Europe-wide foodvenience expertise

Valora operates around 2,800 retail outlets across Europe and is among the leading providers of foodvenience concepts with brands such as BackWerk, Ditsch, and Frittenwerk. The company specializes in fresh food and beverages for consumption on the go and has extensive experience at high-traffic locations.

The pilot project

The cooperation will initially begin as a pilot project. Based on the insights gained during this phase, the partners will evaluate the potential further development of the collaboration.

“The mobility market is changing rapidly. Through this planned cooperation, we are creating the conditions to strengthen our position sustainably and continue offering our customers attractive solutions for energy, mobility, and on-the-go services in the future,” says Kim Lorenzen.
